The catalytic converter is composed of a metallic carrier and a catalyzer coat. It is installed in the motorcycle exhaust pipe to reduce harmful emissions and protect the environment.

The most common precious metals used as the catalyst in the catalytic converter are platinum, rhodium, and palladium. They are widely used in the aerospace and aviation industries, jewelry industry and automotive and motorcycle industry due to their unique physical and chemical properties.

The performance and cost of the catalytic converter are directly influenced by the proportion of precious metal contained in the catalyst. To achieve the lowest emissions possible, Haojue Suzuki motorcycles employ quality precious metal catalysts containing platinum, rhodium, or palladium. Dual-catalyst used in motorcycles with fine-tuned carburetors will add cost of 250 Yuan each; and single catalyst used in motorcycles with fuel injection system will add cost of 150 Yuan each. Polluting emissions, however, are more than 77% lower than those of Euro II motorcycles, far beyond the requirements of the Euro III emission standard.
